FIDAL and MetricUp welcome you to GEOpard platform (hereinafter also referred to as “GEOpard” or “Platform”). The Platform, including all its functionalities, is property of FIDAL – Federazione Italiana di Atletica Leggera ("FIDAL”) and it is managed by MetricUp.

These are the general terms and conditions (T&C) on which we supply all our services.

The latest version of our T&C – effective as of December 30, 2020 – will be available to you at all times. Please take the time to read them before using GEOpard services.


When you access the Platform and register your personal data, you must declare that you are of age and that you have read the general conditions for accessing the services offered by the Platform, which we ask you to expressly accept by clicking on the "I accept" space. The declaration of having carefully read the general terms and conditions and their acceptance is a necessary condition for accessing and using the services offered by FIDAL and MetricUp through the GEOpard Platform.

We process personal data in accordance with our privacy policy. As part of this agreement, you consent to our doing so. You should read the policy carefully, especially if you have any concerns about your privacy.


    • Access to the services of the Platform is free. The use of some services may be subject to a fee, but it will be well signposted. The Platform is managed by MetricUp, in cooperation with FIDAL and users must be between 18 and 35 years old to register (hereinafter "user" and / or "users").
    • Before proceeding to the registration, we ask all users to accept the general terms and conditions detailed here and to carefully read the information about the processing of personal data necessary for accessing the services of the Platform. To complete the registration’ procedure, user must enter a username and a password and then click on the "Accept" button. By doing so, you declare that you have carefully read and expressly accepted all the conditions, terms, and methods of use of the Platform.
    • Username and password are personal and cannot be used by anyone else to access the services of the GEOpard Platform.
    • Each user shall register with GEOpard only once, and with the registration confirms that has not registered any account with GEOpard before and has not deleted a previously activated user account.
    • By registering, the user confirms the knowledge and the unlimited recognition of the content of these T&C as well as that all registration data is true, accurate, current, and complete, and will keep all registration information up to date.
    • Following successful registration, the user (then the “Registered User”) can log on to the Platform by either (i) entering his/her email address and the chosen password, or (ii) accomplishing the login via Facebook Connect or Google Sign-In.
    • If the user provides any information that is untrue, inaccurate, not current or incomplete, or GEOpard has reasonable grounds to suspect that such information is untrue, inaccurate, not current or incomplete, GEOpard has the right to suspend or terminate the account immediately and without prior notice.
    • GEOpard is not responsible for the actual identity of the user since personal identification via the internet is possible only to a limited extent. Each user shall itself confirm the identity of other users prior to entering any form of interaction with such users, e.g., adding as a friend or by writing messages.


  • Fraud protection. User must protect the account from unauthorized and fraudulent use. Please notify us immediately of any unauthorized or fraudulent use of the account, or if you suspect that your account may be at risk. GEOpard has the right to close or cancel the account of any Registered User in the event of any unauthorized or fraudulent use of the account.
  • It is expressly forbidden to share or store to the Platform files containing child pornography, files supporting violence, hatred, racism, etc., files which you have no authorisation to use and copy (e.g. someone else’s pictures or data) and files infringing any rights and laws. It is also prohibited to attack the infrastructure and servers of GEOpard and to transfer and spread viruses, malware, spam, unsolicited or phishing messages, etc., pretend a relationship with an entity or person and act as someone else. It is also forbidden to send files, which have derogatory, obscene, defamatory, profane contents, contents belittling or promoting gambling, sale and use of alcohol, tobacco products or illegal drugs. If we ascertain based on our own investigation or a documented and valid complaint that user breaks any law, we have the right to remove all files, which infringe the law, disclose the files during court proceedings, based on court ordinances, during negotiations with the authorities active in the criminal proceedings, for the purposes of securing national safety and public safety protection, including the cases of enforcing our application use Terms and Conditions, without previous notice.
  • Users Obligations and Conduct. User can only save, publish, transmit and distribute contents, e.g., photos, pictures, text, representations or videos, if the user is authorized to pass on such content, i.e., (i) if the user has the exclusive right to use such content or, (ii) in the event that the user is not the owner of such rights with respect to content provided by it, (iii) if the user guarantees to GEOpard that all required rights, licenses, permits etc. have been validly obtained. This shall also apply to content subject to intellectual property rights, such as trade names and trademarks. User shall be exclusively responsible for such content.

User should also regularly save important personal details externally, e.g., on an external storage medium, hard drive or in the cloud. GEOpard shall not be responsible for any lost or impaired details.

  • User’s health is particularly important to us. ALWAYS consult your doctor about your athletic behaviour. GEOpard neither substitutes your doctor, nor is responsible for your behaviour. The contents of the Platform, regardless whether they are provided by GEOpard, its partners or users, are not meant to supplement, let alone replace, the information provided by doctors or pharmacies. By accepting these T&C, you confirm that you are solely responsible for your health.


    • GEOpard shall have the right to save content or disclose such content to third parties, to the extent this is required by law, or legally permissible and reasonably necessary, in order to:
  • comply with statutory law, or court or administrative orders.
  • ensure compliance with these T&C.
  • react to claims of breaches of law raised by third parties; or
  • safeguard the rights, property, or personal safety of GEOpard, its users and the general public.
    • Use of Content. The user grants GEOpard the irrevocable, free, non-exclusive, and unlimited right to use all content generated, transmitted, saved, and published by such user. Accordingly, GEOpard shall have the right to use, irrespective of the type of usage, all content both as part of the Platform and any other activity of GEOpard or any company affiliated with GEOpard. This shall include the right to change and edit such content unless such changes or edits impair material interests of the user. In this connection, the user waives, to the extent legally permissible, all intellectual property rights.
    • GEOpard does not claim ownership of any content created by users and will not supervise such content.
    • GEOpard reserves the right to delete content created by users, such as routes, photos, events, or comments without giving reasons. In this event, the user shall be notified and, in the event of a breach of these T&C, may be sanctioned by closing or cancelling the account.
    • Inaccurate Content. GEOpard shall not be responsible for inaccurate content created by users, e.g., details regarding routes or events etc.
    • We do all the best to ensure that the Platform work properly, but we do not guarantee that the service shall be available without an interruption and permanently, that it shall not contain errors and that it shall be secured. The User uses the application on his own risk and responsibility. In any case, GEOpard bears no responsibility towards the application users or third parties for possible damage arisen by the use of the Platform based on any warranty, contract, civil wrong, including negligent wrong, or another legal interpretation, namely even if GEOpard was informed about the arising of such damage and problem.



MetricUp and FIDAL will process all personal data provided by users at the time of registration in full compliance with the provisions contained in EU Regulation 679/2016 and in the Privacy Code, as per separate Privacy Policy available on the Platform that is an integral part of this agreement.



This Agreement is governed by and shall be interpreted in accordance with Italian law. The Parties expressly agree that the Court of Rome shall have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute concerning the validity, effectiveness, interpretation and performance of this Agreement, exception made for the disputes with the User which will instead be the responsibility of the Judicial Authority of the place of residence or domicile of the User.

With this privacy policy (“Privacy Policy or Policy”) we want to provide you with information about us, the nature, purpose and scope of the data processing, e.g. (collection and use) giving you insights into the processing of your personal data through GEOpard application (hereinafter referred to as “Platform” or “GEOpard”) owned by FIDAL – Italian Federation of Athletics (hereinafter referred to as “FIDAL”) and managed by MetricUp S.r.l. (hereinafter referred to as “MetricUp”), as well as the rights that the user himself may exercise in relation to the processing of such data. “Personal data” means any information which can be used, directly or indirectly, to identify an individual. Examples of personal data include but are not restricted to name, age, gender, contact information, address, and IP-address.

The processing of your personal data takes place in compliance with applicable local data privacy laws, e.g., the EU General Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR”) or the Italian data protection act in its current form. Please read this Policy carefully. When you use this Platform, you consent to our collection, storage, use, disclosure, and safeguarding of your information and personal data as described in this Policy. Your consent is optional. However, we remind you that failure to provide such consent may not allow correct use of the Platform. You can revoke your consent any time, as better specified below.

You are also informed that the Terms of Use exclusively govern the navigation, access, use and processing of data connected to this Platform and related services. If you want, you can access to FIDAL sites (http://www.fidal.it) or (http://www.runcard.com) using your GEOpard login information. In this case, please refer to Policies and Terms of Use of those sites. 


GEOpard is a platform owned by FIDAL (VAT n. 01384571004), based in via Flaminia Nuova 830 – 00191 Rome (RM) and MetricUp S.r.l. (VAT n. 15668161001) based in Tecnopolo Tiburtino, 00131 - Rome (RM) Via Ardito Desio 60.

 MetricUp and FIDAL (hereinafter also jointly referred to as “Controllers” or “Parties”) will process the data as independent data controllers, with respect of the General Data Protection Regulation n. 2016/679 (“GDPR”) and of the D. Lgs. 196/2003, as modified by D. Lgs. 101/2018 (hereinafter “Privacy Code”). For sake of clarity, users are informed that the Parties will process the data in accordance with the provisions of this Policy, but they must not be considered joint Controllers. As consequence of that, Controllers shall determine their respective responsibilities for the compliance with the obligations under this Policy, in particular as regards the exercising of the rights of the data subject and their respective duties to provide the information referred to in Articles 13 and 14, each remaining responsible solely and exclusively for the respective processing.

  • In General. GEOpard processes certain data, including personal data that you as a user of the Platform make available to us, for example by using our Products, and that others provide to us (“Data”).
  • Categories of Personal Data.

These are the categories of personal data we might collect directly or indirectly from you:

Identity information – includes name (first, last), date of birth, e-mail address, gender, profile picture, social media identifiers and information passed along to us via your Facebook account, Instagram account or Google account. We use it to verify your identity.

Contact information - includes: your phone number, shipping and billing address, e-mail address, Messenger ID, social media handle, any other communication channel you have used to contact us for more information. We use it to contact you for different reasons depending on the purpose (e.g., newsletters).

Location information - includes: your chosen residential location, current log-in location (IP address), and/or GPS location (if you wish to share it with us, for example through your mobile device settings) or other phone related location data (e.g., via Wi-Fi or Bluetooth), or the specific GEOpard or FIDAL sites you visited that might give us clues about where you are. We use it to operate our Platform, to adapt your experience to your location and to suggest you alternative tracks.

Community information – includes follower information in the GEOpard community, information provided by you when you participate in various events and groups/communities either as a trainer, team member, a participant or as a promoter of the events, including for example: pictures, videos, your team, your interests and preferences, your feedback, event participation, ranking, joined groups and registration details. We use Community information to operate our Platform, to organize the events and communities and to connect you with other members within the communities.

Social Media information – includes: information obtained through your interaction with us on various social media channels such as Facebook, Instagram, Google, etc., including: any social media information that is publicly available such as your social media handles, social media interactions and public postings, your “Likes” and other reactions, your social media connections, your photos that are public, or those you send to us by mentioning us or following our social media posts by using “handles” or “hashtags”. We obtain this information from the social media network (e.g., Facebook, Instagram, etc.) directly or indirectly through third parties.

Device information – includes: Information about your device or browser that give us an idea about your browsing behaviour or device usage. Your device information is collected by our apps, and your browser information is collected by our cookies, tags, and pixels. This is often required for network security purposes. This includes, but not limited to IP address, date and time of the visit, how long you remained on our website, transmitted data volume, the referral URL (if you came to our site via a different site or an advertisement), the pages visited on our site, your browser type (including language and version of the browser software) and add-ons, device identifier and features, device type, versions, operating system.

Activity information - includes fitness data (for example workout start and end times, activity type, heatmaps etc), sensor data (this includes, but not limited to duration, distance) and other data (e.g., routes and photos including location data). We use it to operate our Platform, to help you improve your goals, your user experience and identify how to improve the connection with others.

Preference information - includes preferred language, login location, units (distance etc.), personal goals and motivation (e.g., number of races, events created etc), racing plan information (e.g., start date, place to run etc). We use it to give you information about other members to connect with and improve your experience with the Platform.

  • Data from Others.

Registration via Facebook or Google:

If you register a GEOpard account via social login, we will receive the following information:

  • Facebook Inc. (1601 South California Avenue, Palo Alto, CA 94304, USA, “Facebook”): First and last name, email address, gender, birthdate and profile picture.
  • Facebook Friend List
  • Google Inc. (1600 Amphitheatre Parkway Mountain View, CA 94043, USA, “Google”): First and last name, email address, gender, birthdate and profile picture.

We will receive information about your friends on Facebook if you explicitly allow us to access it. We will use this information to make friend suggestions in the Platform, but do not store it.

  • Cookies and similar technologies


What Are Cookies. The Website uses 'cookies' – small text files that are placed on your computer, mobile device and/or stored by the browser. The basis for the processing of data via cookies are our legitimate interests.

Cookie Policy. For more information on the cookies we use, which, if any, personal data they collect, and how to disable them, please see our Cookie Policy.


3.1 Processing: Personal data shall be processed in accordance with Art. 5 of GDPR, with particular attention to the principles of lawfulness, fairness and transparency, data minimisation, purpose limitation, accuracy, storage limitation, accountability and integrity and confidentiality.

Personal data will be processed by manual and computerized systems; the Parties have implemented all the appropriate technical and organisational security measures to avoid the risk of accidental loss, damage, accidental or unlawful destruction, alteration, unauthorised disclosure of, or access to, personal data transmitted, stored, or processed.

3.2 Storage: Personal data collected will be kept for the time strictly necessary to complete the operations for which they were collected. Beyond that, we only store data, if it is legally necessary (because of warranty, limitation or retention periods) or otherwise required.

3.4 Account deletion: If you decide to delete your account, all data the Parties have about you will be deleted, with the following exceptions:

  • Any details made public by you (e.g., routes, comments on other registered users’ sport activities, will be anonymized, i.e. it will be made clear that such details were provided by a deleted user).
  • Any data required for GEOpard’s performance of contractual obligations or compliance with statutory retention obligations shall not be deleted but minimized to the necessary extent.

A deletion request does not affect data if the storage is legally necessary.


We share data with third parties and our affiliates.

  • if this is necessary, for the purposes,
  • due to a request from a national authority,
  • due to a court ruling,
  • if required by law,
  • if necessary, to investigate and defend ourselves against any third-party claims or allegations,
  • to exercise or protect the rights and safety of GEOpard, our members, personnel, or
  • if you have (explicitly) consented beforehand.

As consequence of that, user’s data may be transferred abroad also outside the EU Countries. Such transfer will take place on the basis of adequacy decisions and other appropriate safeguards. The Parties may mutually transmit the data collected: the shared data will be processed for the purposes set out in this Privacy Policy or, if applicable, for the purposes indicated in the information that will be provided pursuant to Articles 13 or 14 of the GDPR. Furthermore, they may disclose user data to third parties, including any partners, sponsors or companies that provide the services offered through the Platform. These third parties will act as Processor pursuant to art. 28 of the GDPR.Some of the aforementioned subjects may also act as independent data controllers. In this case, they will issue appropriate information pursuant to art. 14 of the GDPR, unless otherwise provided by law.The data collected through the Platform are part of the company assets; therefore, in the case of operations involving the company (such as mergers, divisions, acquisitions, etc.), such data may be transferred together with the company itself. The processing of such personal data in any case will take place in compliance with and within the limits of this Privacy Policy, as subsequently modified. 


We inform you that the Parties may use the personal data provided by the user through the Platform in order to send commercial communications. In that case, they will process your personal data on legal basis, including, where necessary, your prior consent. You can revoke your consent by sending an email to the Parties at following addresses privacy@geo-pard.com


GEOpard Platform uses technologies, such as cookies, to collect information relating to the use of the Platform by users. The consent to the use of these technologies and the related data processing is optional, but if you refuse the consent the Platform may not work properly.

7.1 Exercise your Rights. To exercise your rights defined in sections 7.2 to 7.8, please send a request via email to privacy@geopard.com or privacy@fidal.it or via mail to our postal addresses.

7.2 Revocation of Consent. You can revoke your consent – in those cases where consent for processing is necessary – for future data processing at any time. However, this does not affect the lawfulness of data processing based on the consent before the revocation. In certain cases, we may continue to process your information after you have withdrawn consent, if we have another legal basis to do so or if your withdrawal of consent was limited to certain processing activities.

7.3 Right of Access. You have the right to obtain (i) confirmation as to whether or not your data is being processed by us and, if so, (ii) more specific information on the data. The more specific information concerns, among other things, processing purposes, categories of data, potential recipients, or the duration of storage.

7.4 Right to Rectification. You have the right to obtain the rectification of inaccurate data concerning you from us. In case the data processed by us is not correct, we will rectify these without undue delay and inform you of this rectification. Please note that (i) you can rectify much of your information in the settings and (ii) it is not technically possible for us to rectify all kinds of data in our Product.

7.5 Right to Erasure. You have the right to delete data we store about you. Should you decide to do so, please go to your account settings on the Platform and delete your account there. If you are unable to do this, please contact us via the email addresses.

7.6 Right to Restriction of Processing. You have the right to obtain a restriction of processing of your data from us in the following cases:

  • you make an inquiry pursuant para. 7.4, if you so request;
  • you are of the opinion that the processing of your data is unlawful, but are opposed to an erasure of Data;
  • you still require the data for the establishment, exercise or defense of legal claims; or
  • you have objected to the processing pursuant para. 7.8.

7.7 Right to Data Portability. You have the right to (i) receive a copy of your Data in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format and (ii) transmit those data to another controller without hindrance from us. You can download a copy of your data in your account settings on the website.

7.8 Right to Object. You have the right to object at any time to the processing of data for which our legitimate interests are the legal basis, including profiling based on those provisions. You also have the right to object to processing of data for direct marketing purposes.

7.9 Right to File a Complaint. You have the right to file a complaint with your local supervisory authority, if you think that the processing of data infringes applicable law. If you live in Italy, and if you think it is appropriate, you can also send a complaint to the Italian Data Protection Authority, Piazza Venezia n. 11 – 00187 Rome, by email at address protocollo@gpdp.it, by calling +39 06.69677 or by fax at +39 06696773785.


We review and update the Privacy Policy periodically to reflect any changes resulting from our day-to-day business operations. You can always check the date of the Privacy Notice to find out when we last made any changes. We will notify you when we make significant changes that you must be aware of. Should the changes affect processing activities performed on the basis of the User’s consent, Parties shall collect new consent from the User, where required.
