“Corsa dei Santi 2020” – Virtual solidarity race in Rome

Hundreds of runners in the “virtual race” version of the traditional 10 kilometers of All Saints’ Day for charity. The fundraising of this edition is dedicated to minors in prison.

The virtual edition of  “Corsa dei Santi” (click here to see the official website of the race), sponsored by Melinda and Teva Farmaceutici and promoted by “Missioni Don Bosco” on the occasion on All Saints’Day, has already seen hundreds of runners from all over Italy participating remotely.

The Race will as always bring concrete support to missionaries thanks to the solidarity campaign “Your love can break down the bars”. This year project is dedicated to minors deprived of their liberty in prisons all over the world.

Following Don Bosco’s thought about the change of young people takes place through education, the Salesians work in detention centers to make these young people feel the joy of being able to listen and pay attention to them.

Their action consist in specific interventions in the different realities and in the different phases of the detention process: from alternative measures to the prison system, as in Luanda, in Angola, to assistance in the judicial process as in Freetown, Sierra Leone, to animation in prison, as in Mexico in Ciudad Juarez, thanks to the Brigada de la Alegria, for reintegration into society, as in Chennai, India.
